iPad's and connecting external hard drives

As im sure most of you are aware there is a nice tutorial on how to do this...

Now my question is this...
In the tutorial the code he is entering, is being done by connecting the iPad to a mac computer...Would you be able to do this with a windows OS?

Yes, when he uses the terminal to SSH in to the iPad you can just use PuTTY: a free telnet/ssh client on Windows.

When you click open the username you will want to enter is root and the password will be alpine (going by that guide anyway)

After that you can enter the commands the guide tells you to.
