Modern Warfare 2: 10th Prestige

On various websites I see people with Jtagged consoles helping people cheat to get it. The thing is people are actually paying like $30 for some one to help them get it, or offering MS points / a live subscription.

On the net i found: "Once you make it to level 70, and get a little more experience, you can "Prestige." This makes you return to level 1 with no weapons or anything unlocked. It increases playability of the game. You can do this a maximum of 10 times, which is what "10th Prestige" is"

So whats so special, I dont get it? it appears to just be a rank to me... not exactly worth paying for.

Well it is only just a rank, though with each prestige you get new emblems and call signs as well. special prestige challenges. Plus with like every other prestige you also gain another custom class max of 9 or 10 custom classes I'm guessing. Not reached 10th prestige yet.

I have seen people who are willing to pay a fair bit to get it too... just a status symbol i guess.

Most people who have it cheated anyway and everyone knows that so its a wate of money if you ask me.

You have to be extremely pathetic to pay someone just to get to 10th prestige. Who gives a damn about it, MW2 sucks anyways. I'm not gonna say "Oh wow your amazing a 10th prestige!" It doesn't even help your rank since its in a private match, I was in one of these matches just because a friend was like "join me dude!" and I said "Whatever." Then I got to level 70 with one kill. It was amusing you could say but not worth paying for.

I really hate the idea of Prestige. Why would I give up all my XP and unlocked weapons for a useless emblem? I do not enjoy CoD that much to start all over when it comes to multiplayer. You can always tell who has too much free time on CoD by looking at what level prestige they are. If going prestige gave you a new weapon or perk, I would consider it. But just for an emblem, I will pass.
