Four shows I watch on there, 3 of them were new shows that only made the first season.

This isnt going well It seems any in-depth shows that attempt to build storylines always end up cancelled. To me it seems like TV Shows are getting dumbed down because anything with depth doesn't cut it into multiple seasons.

Hate to sound like an old person talking about the old days, but it seems like we're never end up with shows like House, Fringe, Prison Break or Heroes again. Use to love getting really into a show and all its story arcs, plot twists and more

Can't believe Revolution got cancelled. It was quite good. There is also quite a few others on that list I was watching. TV Shows these days just never last long unless they are extremely popular like Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead.

Indeed i agree, that's very true. I've felt that ever since House, Prison Break, Heroes and Lost all finished. I loved all the twists, suspense and continuous stories that could span over multiple seasons.

I think in the 24 thread i posted a link to an article about 24 coming back, which stated the networks didn't feel 20+ episode seasons were viable any more, as people want to "binge watch" on Netflix, or DVR the show without adverts. Which to be honest is totally true, i wouldn't watch live TV in america with all the advert breaks every 5-6 mins, it ruins any sort of enjoyment.

However i do feel with people "binge watching" it's much easier for them to get in to a really long story like Lost for example, as your not waiting weeks / months between episodes, so a lot easier to remember and understand.

It really is a case of networks refuse to adapt to modern consumption methods, so piracy becomes the most enjoyable way to watch tv shows.

After Alcatraz, Last Resort and The River all got canned after a few episodes the other year i've not started watching any new series. All three had a really good plot and story line, yet never really got a chance.

I refuse to start watching a show unless it has major buzz from critics and/or good viewing figures. I'll wait till some shows I'm not certain about are on their third season before I'll begin to watch it. Like InsaneNutter and others who've posted, I've had some really good shows cancelled on me too often now The one recent surprise show I like that has tons of viewers in the US is Person of Interest but one show among so many cancelled won't make me change my mind on new shows unfortunately.
