i want to buy a new ps3 so i want to know, can i check its firmware version from the box as Sony showrooms don't allow me to open the box???
i just want to be sure if it is 3.55 or less

if this is regarding the jailbreak then all manufactored ps3 from time jailbreak was around have got the patch that blocks it
