You could chip the PS2 which means to solder a mod chip to it. You could use Free Mcboot with ESR which sounds like a better alternative. Although if you have a fat ps2 you could use Free Mcboot with a hard drive for no disc swapping and quicker load times. USB loading is also possible but not recommended as compatibility is bad and and fmv's lag/studder due to PS2's being USB 1.1 instead of 2.0.
