Need 3.71 for Dark_AleX's 3.71 M33? Here's Sony's update to feed its installer. It's for the PSP-1000 and the PSP-2000 Slim only. A PSP-3000 can't run anything older than 4.20.
For M33, put EBOOT.PBP in the root of the memory stick, rename it 371.PBP and start the M33 installer. A PSP that isn't on custom firmware yet needs Pandora first, and that only works on the original PSP-1000s and the early PSP-2000 boards.

For a straight update, open the PSP folder in the zip and copy the PSP folder inside it to your memory stick. "PSP Update ver 3.71" then shows up under Game > Memory Stick. Have the charger in before you press X.
Anything already past 3.71 can't take it.
Newer version: PSP Official Firmware 4.01
