Hello,My Xbox 360 was shipped with a Hitachi DL10N drive but it no longer works,I'm thinking about replacing it with a Liteon DG-16D5S drive cause I can't find a Hitachi drive where I live,I wanted to know if I flash the correct firmware to the Lite on drive with the correct dvd key,Will I be able to play online safely or do I need to have the same manufacturer dvd drive to play online?

You will need to use the same manufacturer / DVD drive to play online, otherwise you will risk getting banned.

For offline play you would be fine with a Liteon, just not for online play.

Thanks,So for offline play eventhough the OSIG in the nand says Hitachi,You will still be able to play fine right?

I believe you must spoof it to match what the old drive would have been for everything to work, which i dont think it safe for online play anymore, but fine for offline.

It's honestly been so long since i repaired any 360's things could have changed now. Just trying to help you out the best I can do.

I finally changed the dvd drive to a Lite on drive(without changing osig on the nand)and every think works perfectly fine,So I think only thing important for playing offline is the dvd key to match
