question from newbie , b4 i buy the xbox 360 , plz need some feedback

hello guys
actually im up to buy xbox 360 either 4gb or 250
the question is which one is suitable to be hacked , and does it need mod ship or third party chips like the ps2 , or just software and firmware hack like the psp
and at last plz post some urls for the complete hack operations ..

No Xbox 360 can be hacked by just software only, you have to open the console up regardless of which hack you do.

At the moment the slim has 2x hacks, a flashed DVD drive which will only allow you to play burned games and the Reset Glitch Hack (RGH) which allows homebrew, emulators, larger hard drives, linux, media players... basically anything you can think of.

The RGH is the better hack, however stupidly complex compared to a DVD drive flash.

As to how easy the slim is to hack it really depends on the DVD drive in the console, the best tutorial on flashing can be found here: Jungle Flasher - DownloadsIf you want an easy life, buy an older FAT Xbox 360 with a BenQ DVD drive in it. You will have a much easier time modding it if its your first go at modding a 360.

actually i mainly understand 70% of the situation , and i have extra few questions for u if plz
firstly from what i understood that all the xbox's either 250 gb ot 4gb slim or any brand new one can be hacked without any problems ? even if it have new firmwares or not ?
secondly is there possibility to brick it while i installing the hacks or jailbreaks ?

Not all new slims can be hacked without problems, for example if you get one with the Lite-On 1175 dvd drive that can not be hacked, the newer slims can also not be RGH hacked.

For slims you can look at the lot number on the box to try identify what drive is in the console before buying:

Yesterday I asked a shop-assistant how old were the xboxs, which they had in sale. He said that they bring new ones every week. So does it mean that all new Xbox Slims are unhackable or Microsoft makes both ?

I have heard that the new slims motherboards are made differently and patched the rgh.For the slim dvd drive,c4e is still working on LT+ 3.0 for those drives.
