Remove 4GB Flash Memory On Xbox 360?

Bought the 4GB Xbox 360 in November 2012 (didn't know a hard drive at first) when first using I had an Xbox Live profile and a few random games only saving to memory unit, however now I try formatting memory unit to only use hard drive but the old profile remains, I've also tried transfering to hard drive but it does nothing, the memory unit is 4gb with 2.9gb showing as free, all games and anything else has been cleared but the old unused profile remains stuck on memory unit, is there a possible way to remove the memory unit completely so my Xbox only saves items to hard drive?
