Sim City 3000 on Win 7

I'm trying to play Sim City 3000 Unlimited on Win 7 (I already switched to Win XP service pack 2 in properties) and it still won't play. So I was led to this site for a patch that would allow me to play the game; Anybody know which patch that is?

Have you tried the patch here: http://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/699-simcity-3000-compatibility-fixes/ i believe that is what i used to play Sim City 3000 on Windows 7 years ago.

Good Old Games also sell an updated version of Sim City 3000 which works on Windows 7, 8 and 10.
