Good news UK viewers...

Visit Wikipedia today and there is a 50% chance your ISP will flag you up as a "paedophile".

This is all to do with the Internet Watch Foundation clasing an album art viewable on Wikipedia as "Child Porn". The picture is infact a 12 year old with her privates covered. Whenever or not its right is not the point. Wikipedia say they do not censor and the album art is relevent to the article.

Unbelieveable to think that secretly we have been building the great firewall of britain which is similar to the firewall used in China. Any site the UK goverment or its agencies feels we are not allowed to view, can be blocked. Wasnt the internet all about having no censors?

While blocking child porn may be a good thing. Imagine if something major leaked from the UK Goverment onto the net and they wanted to get it blocked? All they need to do is add it to the blacklist and boom, no one in the UK can see it. Anyone else worried by that?

I understand the point you're making, but what if said leaked document was bank details etc. such as the data loast earlier this year? Surely if your bank details were spread across the internet you wouldn't want people to be able to view them.

To be honest, nothing surprises me with this goverment anymore. At our current rate, I think we'll be living in a big brother type society before long...
