I don't know if you guys are on Twitter also, but if your unfamiliar with "Twitter" it is a social networking site where users can post 140 character long updates about what they're doing. Many celebrities have also joined the Twitter craze, such as Stephen Fry and Jonathan Ross.

If you have a Twitter account, just list your Username (and a link to your page) so people can easily find you a follow you. If you don't have a Twitter account, why not get one! It's quick, easy, and you never know, you might just enjoy it!

To get us started, I'll post a link to my page as well as a couple of the best "Tweeters" I follow.

Just a couple to get you started, if you google Twitter and search through a few pages you can also find sites that list good Tweeters to follow, in fact, I'm sure the BBC did a "Dummy's Guide to Twitter" thing, where they gave you some sites.

Twitter looks to be taking over the internet lately, I’ve heard a lot about it lately on various websites.

It was also featured on the Gadget show the other week (TV program in the UK).
They had a challenge to see who could organise the biggest random meet up of people from the internet, Jason used twitter and Gail used Facebook.
With twitter Jason got about 1000+ people I think it was to meet in the centre of Birmingham, compared to 20 or 30 people Gail got from Facebook.

I don’t think I would really use it but I might have to sign up and see what its about, Great post (Y)
 
Exactly what InsaneNutter said. It has taken over the internet. I have twitter but I never use it.

I like how the game developers use it and they post good updates on there. So i just follow them lol.

Mine's the first one I posted ;) Sorry, should've made that clear.

Maybe we could try and get all the members of Digiex signed up and start an unofficial community of Digiex Tweeters! Might be an interesting idea if InsaneNutter or Nimrod (or anyone who is willing) could set up a Twitter account for Digiex and then we post of the latest (or best) threads on Twitter, or even the latest download links (even though I know we've been having problems with too many people downloading). It would be a great way to get some free publicity!

I shall follow everyone who posts their account up also :)

No worries! I don't know how I did it either, but (LOL) #FollowFriday has been a major friend of mine. Also with having my bike as my avatar has helped to attract bikers.

I've reached my goal for today, wanted to finally get to 800 and I did, with many thanx to my M8's here.

Next Friday's #FollowFriday, I'll push for you again, by then I hope to be pushing the 2000+ followers mark.

Following you now InsaneNutter :)

As for the # it basically allows websites which track tweets (and Twitter also I think) to pick up the key words in Tweets. If you notice at the side of your twitter page it has most popular topics, if you put # then it makes it easier to pick up the key words I think. That's what I understand it to be for anyway.

EDIT: Also InsaneNutter, what did you think to the Digiex Twitter account idea?

I think the Digiex twitter account could become a useful asset if it gets a following and is updated regally. I don’t think I would update it enough, If it’s something you wouldn’t mind updating / trying out I don’t see any problems with it.

Erm yeah I'll do it if you want me to, I don't have anything else to do this summer! I think it would be really useful, shouldn't be too hard to get a following if I try hard enough (Y)
 
If you want to do it that go for it, no pressure either way! were doing quite a few things behind the scenes on Digiex at the moment so I wouldn’t want to commit to anything else just yet.

Maybe we can make it so twitter automatically pulls a summary of new posts off Digiex, It would be an easy way of updating twitter whenever something gets posted on our front page and hopefully get more people to read it.

Im sure more than one person could have access to the account if needed, im not 100% on how other websites do things with twitter.

This is exactly what I was thinking, but I don't know how you'd do it. I know that FMyLife - FML : Your everyday life stories. does it, I follow them and they post up the latest FML's on twitter, which is exactly what I was thinking we could do for Digiex, but with new threads and that.
