Here is the Xbox 360 Backwards Compatibility Update - November 2007 .
This is for people that don't have Xbox Live .
In November 2007 Microsoft updated the backwards compatibility of the Xbox 360 .
With this update you can play more Xbox 1 Games then before .

Check for more info :

Xbox Live's Major Nelson » November ’07 Back Compat Update :

Here is how to update your Xbox 360 :

1. Download the file below .
2. Unrar the file.
3. Burn the default.xex to a disc at minimum speed ( You can use a CDR ) .
4. Put the disc in the Xbox 360 .
5. Press play game & follow the instructions .
6. Play your old Xbox 1 games on your Xbox 360 .

This will work on any Xbox 360 Console with a HDD.

Only problem with SA on the 360, is that the cutscenes sometimes end up not syncing with the sounds, which is a problem i only experience on the 360. Still a rare problem though.

The best result playing Xbox 1 games is in 720p or 1080i.

I think mine is jtag cause all xex, god games work on it please inlight me up i downloaded many old xbox games halo 2, conker, black, still aint workin some local people say the new xbox 360 the (E) model doesnt support backwards compatibility so i dunno + its banned from xbox live, the dashboard update is 2.0.16747.0 sorry for the big letter

Do you have an internal hard drive? you have to have an internal hard drive with the backwards comparability partition to play Xbox Classic games.

The Xbox 360 E supports this, however some do not ship with an internal hard drive by default.

If you have an internal hard drive you have just put in the console and formatted, you do not have the backwards compatibility partition, so follow my tutorial here: Upgrade a Jtagged Xbox 360's hard drive, restore the avatars and Xbox 1 emulator to setup the required partition.

This will erase everything on the internal hard drive so be sure to back up any content to your PC first.

Ok. I have a xbox 360 with a 250 GB MS HDD.

I got this console for ESPN's NFL2k5. After starting the console up, it says that the game will not work. After installing the patch above it does indeed work!

But now the LIVE connect ability is lost plus hence it will not allow me to update the game, because it wants the LIVE connection for this.

Any way to fix this?

I got it now! I registered for X-Box-Live, then startete the game, the 360 downloaded a "backward compatible" update on its own, plus the newest patch >>game runs perfectly!

I missed the point further up that this update is not NON XBOX LIVE users!

cheers
