Today's Xbox 360 update fixes voice recognition issues, Microsoft's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb has confirmed.


"Today the team released an Xbox 360 system update to quickly fix some voice recognition issues affecting our non-English speaking members," he tweeted.

How to install:

1.) Unrar the download
2.) Copy the $SystemUpdate folder to the root of a CD or USB Stick (The memory stick must be FAT or Fat32 formatted)
3.) Insert the CD or USB Stick into your Xbox 360 console.
4.) You will be automatically prompted to update with a USB stick, with a CD / DVD it should say Mixed Media Disc, power down the 360 and power it on again. You should be ask to update before the 360 boots to the dashboard.
5.) Once the update is complete your Xbox 360 will restart then boot up to the new dashboard. Enjoy!

After dash 13599 no dashboard made a re-flash to the dvd drives. If one is on lt+3 with liteon and the dash is 14717 then he is just good to get updated with 14719.

I installed the update & when it's updating it stops the game disc from spinning inside the DVD Drive .
Then after a few seconds you can hear the dvd drive spinning up again . This is all during the update .
So i guess it is safe to say that it re-flash'es the dvd drive .
 
I just updated my console to the latest dashboard and it still reads burned games.I am on lt+ 3.0
 
There are at least significant number of people who are playing burnt (ixtreme max burnt+ truncated) games without any problem after updated to 14719. If it did reflash the dvd drives that would not be possible. Ubergeek (from team xecuter) declared the new dash does not bring that kind of stuff like that.
 
hey i have already this version but when i update my xbox it stopped to play burnt discs ... my question is can i get the old version (2.0.12416.0) back to play the burnt games again???

What ixtreme flash do you have? lt+ 3.0 or lt+ 2.0?
I have ixtreme lt+ 3.0 & i can play backups so it could be that. all backup ap2.5 & xgd3 games must be verified in abgx360 again & reburn.

I need to ask im on LT 3.0 and dashboard version is 13599 so is it safe to update this dashboard 14719? i mean it wont loose the mod? + i have kinect so if i upgrade with kinect plugged it will be good to go? or i will have to download kinect update files online? i cant go online, i just want to know if this one is a complete package?

Or should i switch to previous versions? 14699

Im newby here.. I have a modded xbox 360 and ixtreme lt +2.0 and dashboard 2.0.13604.0... If im going to update my console to 2.0.14719.0, it wont flash my recent lt+ 2.0? Can i play burned games again?

Nope & yes you can. Just depends on how you update,on live- downloads the silent update automatically, usb> i'm not sure if this update includes the silent dae.bin update.If your console gets the dae.bin update, you have to patch & reburn all games with ap 2.5 data(all xgd3 games too).And flash your console to lt+ 3.0

I already used Google and all I got are mixed results: some people saying that they can no longer play their back-ups and others saying that they can still play back-ups... All you people are saying the same thing here. Would AP2.5 or XGD3 games need to be re-burned? Would all Xbox 360 games stop working entirely?

I'm coming from the Kinect update. I have no idea how to update to LT+3.0. I don't even know what LT+ Firmware version I'm using...since I paid someone to do it and don't want to risk opening the Xbox myself...Besides, I don't have the equipment to do the job. But I guess it's LT+2.0 since it was done November, 2011, before Lt+3.0 was released.

Advice for a noob anyone? I don't have Xbox Live and don't care about it since I'll never have it (My country isn't listed on the Xbox Live list).

ap2.0 or XGD3 must to be re-burned if you update:(

as max payne 3 and other most recent games put on a mandatory dash update which silently updates the dae.bin I think it will be better to update to lt+3 and play lt+ 3 games. Because, that patched-to-lt+2-iso-burnt games will now runs only straight off the disk. If you install them on the hdd or flash drive it just wont run showing disk authorization failed message. DAE.Bin was actually updated in the beta 14686 dashboard released back in November 2011. Some peep stick to 13599 and were able to play patched isos on their lt+ 2.0 consoles.

I personally think that prick dashboard update rather helped boosting the sells of RGH kits. :P

I am wondering why MS is so silent regarding the summer 2012 dash update. :O
 
E3 is next week, so we might hear something then. My guess is all the focus is on apps at the moment.
