Its currently possible for anyone with a FilePlanet account to obtain a Red Alert 3 Beta key for free, I know a lot of people here have been wanting to play the beta for a long time, so what are you waiting for? Click here and get your key now.

Update - 23rd August, 8pm GMT – You can no longer get a free key from FilePlanet.

You need to have your beta key prior to installing, so sign up here first. It's free and open to everyone.

Install Red Alert 3 Beta, then finally install the 1.03 patch. Yes, the patch is required in order to play.

Edit: The 1.03 patch can also be downloaded direct from EA here without waiting in line.

Thanks for the additional information equazcion. So I’m guessing even though the patch is bigger than the Beta itself you can’t just use the patch as the installer? From what I read on Fileplanet I thought that might be possible.

I would find out for myself but I won’t be home until tonight and I don’t think my laptop is quite up to playing the RA3 Beta.

I haven't tried, but I don't think it would work. When you sign up for the beta key, they send you to download the original installer, then when you try to run the game it forces you to download the patch.

You'd think they would be smart and save bandwidth by combining the two...

If you read over the Cracks thread the last few pages there might be a solution as a few of us have had errors and all sorts.

That GL:5700 sounds like a video card issue... but beyond that I don't know. I've never seen that one before.

You could try reinstalling and/or updating your video card driver. I think those are the first things I would try.

I can now confirm you have to install the original Ra3 beta we have had for a few weeks then the 1.3 patch. Just got mine installed now, I hope to have some good games later on.
 
Damn that sucks. If I'd known that i wouldv'e gotten as many keys as I could.
