So,back in December 2010 my uncle got a SONY PS3 Slim + Sony BRAVIA LED 55 inch tv. When I came back from Dallas, TX, I went to my uncle's in January 13, 2011 so I jailbroke the ps3 with GeoHot 3.55 jb.He liked the jailbreak but in January 2013 he wanted 3D Blu-Ray so I got back to 3.55 stock and updated to 4.31 using psn.Stupidly on Friday I updated to 4.40 because I wanted a new game since he gave it to me a week after getting the Assasins Creed 3 superslim bundle. Now I want to jailbreak my ps3 which is on 4.40 now im stuck on surveys. Please help, I dont condone piracy I just want to play my old SNES games that my dog damaged.
You will need the E3 Flasher to downgrade the PS3 back to 3.55 After that you can install the latest Custom Firmware. Edit - Dark Scyth beat me to it
Thats nice but I found it in Modchip Central for $115 thats the price for 2 new games I guess ill sell my Call of Duty Black Ops 2 and Bioshock Infinite I have the rest lol
Originally from Rogero CEX 4.40 v1.03 PS3 CFW, ToolBox / StealthMAN and ReactPSN - Page 1 - PS3 NEWS - PlayStation 3 News - PS3 Hacks - PS3 CFW Features: ***************This CFW can be installed fine from XMB Update over OFW3.55 or any CFW ver: 3.55/4.21/4.30/4.40 **************** I dont have CFW anymore sadly
You can not install Rogero 4.30 (though I rather prefer Rebug) without being at 3.55 or lower. At the moment it is impossible. So it would be rather impossible to install CFW without a flasher of some sort (E3 Flasher or Progskeet). Meaning, they could not have saved 110$.
Just one question, can I use the E3 Flasher Limited Edition again after downgrade and CFW because i dont really have space since all of my power ports are being usted.
What's the difference between the two? my PS3 has been on 3.55 for around 2 years now, started using it again recently and want to get it upgraded. Is it sill possible to use the PSN, or do Sony actually ban now?
What i mean is that he could go from 3.55 OFW to 4.30 CFW directly, but instead he upgraded to 4.30 OFW. Because of that he needs a flasher that costs 110$ to get back to OFW 3.55.
A higher custom firmware enables you to use features present in the official latest firmware, but also retains support for playing backups on your ps3 and modding. You can find more info at General Jailbreak Discussion
Rogero is your basic CFW that allows you to play games from HDD.etc and Rebug adds a debug menu to your PS3 and I believe it also allows you to install Linux on the newer firmwares along with QA Flagging it, which is always recommended. Along with what Rogero can do. Basically it's the option of if you want a more basic CFW or one with a lot more options. PSN still does work, I have heard reports of people getting banned, primarily from playing Black Ops 2. I do believe that if you do use CFW and multiman, select the game you want first, then boot the game and then afterwards SIGN into PSN and you shouldn't have any issues with being banned. It would also probably be best to use StealthMan rather than Multiman.
