    DS flash carts typically support the EZ-Flash 3-in-1 and allow you to write GBA ROMs to them. Sadly, the 3-in-1 has been discontinued so you'd need another flash cart that lets you flash and boot a ROM like it was a retail game.

    That'd mean the SGB would have had to been modified to detect the cart reader. Or it was a special SGB-like cart. Still hard to say.
