Fancy writing your own games in C#? XNA Game Studio is Microsoft's framework for building games for Windows and Xbox 360, and the 4.0 Refresh is its latest update. This download has both halves: the Game Studio installer for developers, and the XNA Framework 4.0 redistributable that games built on XNA need before they will run.
Download:
Download XNA Game Studio 4.0 Refresh
Just want to play a game that asks for the XNA Framework? Run xnafx40_redist.msi and you're done. To develop with it, run XNAGS40_setup.exe, but install Visual Studio 2010 first because the setup needs it.
Tip: the redistributable is only about 7 MB, so it's the one to pass on to anyone who can't start your game.
