Buying a new PC

I am really considering getting a new PC as this laptop is just not fast enough for me. So I was doing a small search and I found this. I think that it looks like a good buy and would probably be 5.9 on everything for Windows Vista, obviously meaning that its kickass. What does everyone here think?

The wallmart website looks to be down for maintenance at the moment, ill take a look when its back online.

Something to consider is if you’re buying a pre built pc wait until the 1st of July and you will get a free upgrade to Windows 7 when it’s released. Some websites name June 26th as the date, some name it as July 1st.

That is a great deal! My computer has half them specs and was around the same price maybe even higher!

looks like you can build the same unit for a few hundred bucks less on pricewatch.com. with a high-end motherboard. i'd also check newegg, especially for the peripherals (like the blu-ray)

i got it at $729 with a 1.5 TB drive and without the blu-ray.

at that price, it has XP pro included.

you can definitely get the same specs for less, or if you want to spend $1000, you can build a much better machine (like adding a good graphics card)

I concur with the build your own theory. You can save a lot of money, that computer is very expensive. I'm used to prices in British money, but something like that should be at most £500.
Don't be afraid to put your own together, it's actually very easy and very satisfying. Plus you can be sure you like each specific part.

That computer looks awesome. I also concur with the build your own theory. I don't actually know much about PCs but I know a lot of my friends have built their own and saved a lot of money.

whats the graphic card in it? this is all important.
build your own is the best way to go and its easy. just make sure you use an earth strap when you are doing it

The specs don’t look bad, I’m not too sure about the ATI Radeon HD 4830 its not exactly the best card in the world.

I presume you will be gaming? If so it might be better in the long run to get a graphics card with a bit more power, although if you have your heart set on that pc there’s no reason why you can’t upgrade the card later if needed.

As others have said you would get more for your money if you built the pc your self.
