ive got to the first picture you have up there but i dont have any roms to select from

I need help with loading a ROM because when i press on "browse for a rom" I press on "EliteMap" the "Media" then "EliteMap" again, and then i press "media" again. Once i do that it says that "No items match your search." What do I do? Please help me soon, I really want to get started with making a game!

You need to download a rom of Pokemon ruby from somewhere, the map editor does not come with the rom. Unfortunately i cant link to this, however you should find the rom with a quick Google search.

(you only need these if you get errors loading elite map, extract them in to the folder where elite map is installed)

I installed, then opened the EliteMap.exe and it gave error:

Then, I extracted the files to the folder:

And it gave me the exact same error.

What should I do?

Download comdlg32.zip and save to the Desktop.
Unzip the file using WinZip or any other utility.
Extract comdlg32.ocx to Windows\System32 folder.
Open a Command Prompt with Administrator rights and type the following

regsvr32 %Systemroot%\System32\comdlg32.ocx

Hopefully it should work then.

I think you need the original release of Ruby, not the 1.1 version. You could try:
