Hello all,

Well i just upgraded my xbox 1.51 because of some bugg in 1.6 and i was trying a wave3 game. And it was asking for a update so i did that update and apparently it was a dashboard update so when it restarted i had a new dashboard and after that the game was starting and still asking for a update so i pressed yes again and then it was telling me disc unreadable so i tried to download the NXE update and put it on a CD but the xbox just wont update it i even tried it on a USB but still the same error

does somebody know what to do

By the sounds of it you already have the latest dash installed, when it re starts it just copies the avatar data to a storage device (if you have one).

So what happens when you try play the game now?

Well it says that i need to update again and then i pressed yes and then it said disc unreadable and then it just restart the xbox and then over and over again. I cleaned the cd and even burned it again

Somebody got an idea?

I've never heard anything like that before. If the console isn't modded you might want to "try" to contact Mircrosoft someway. I guess you could try to delete system cache. Although you saying trying to play a wave3 game that sounds modded.

Have you tried to play a game without the HDD on?

What do you mean without HDD ? Well yea its a burned game but wave2 games are working fine

HDD would be the Hard Drive. Although I haven't done any modding to my 360 so the "wave" term isn't something I know about.

Yea it works but when i plugg in the harddrive it automaticly crashes the game o_O how can i get it to work with the harddrive?

I just formatted my HDD and everything was deleted and even then it still asked for a update and when i put my HDD out then it works. And wave2 games like resident evil 5, top spin 3 i can just use the HDD too save and play the game

I am thoroughly confused - what is Wave2 and Wave3?

wave 2 are the games you can play with iXtreme 1.5 or lower

wave 3 ar the games you can play with iXtreme 1.51 or higher

examples wave 3 games: Hawx, prototype ( the one i want to play but sad enough it wont still play with HDD plugged in ) etc

Maybe the game is a bad copy as its saying disc unreadable. Do you have any retail games you update your console with?

After you format the hard drive it should want to copy the avatar data back on to it then the game should boot.

Well it could be but how is it possible to play the game without HDD plugged in

Well without the hard drive in the console has nowhere to store the avatar data so will just skip reading that part of the disc and boot the game. Your console is flashed with the latest system update, hence you can’t flash it again with the update from here.

However your avatar data on the hard drive is not up to date so if you have the hard drive in that will update.

The wave 3 data on game discs basically just contains the avatar data, if the console needs that it will be copied to it, if not the game boots.

So what do i need to do now that i can get it to work

Connect to Xbox Live and you should get the latest update, if your banned put your hard drive in a friends console and update it like that.

Try a diffrent wave 3 game?

Buy the game? you will have a proper copy then.
