Freestyle dash F3 no longer works

Ok so i have an xbox 360 with freestyle dash f3. had it for maybe 2-3 years, and up till this morning at maybe 9am its worked nicely. somehow my xbox fell over (no idea time) i have no idea how it happened) and needless to say my freestyle doesnt work. I tried it after i woke up at 12 and found that it took me to the standard dash and there were no gmes, or avatar. I do have a nexstar cx external harddrive with fs dash. but i have no idea how to use it. (my dad did it for me, and never shiwed me the ropes of using it).
could someone offer any advice?

Update:
found out the back with the harddrive had popped off. aftr taking off the harddrive and putting thr back back on and then putting it in again, fs worked for me.
