Debugging a payload on a jailbroken console by guesswork gets old quickly. gdbsrv is a small GDB server for a PS4 or PS5 running an ELF loader. It listens on port 2159, and you attach GDB from your PC to a payload or a running process. It has been tested with GDB 15.
Download:
Download gdbsrv 0.9
Use gdbsrv-ps5.elf on a PS5 and gdbsrv-ps4.elf on a PS4. Sending the wrong one is the usual way to waste an afternoon. Version 0.9 is the 2 August 2026 release.
Heads up: attaching to a live process can crash it, and sometimes the console with it. On a PS5 a restart means running your jailbreak again.
More from ps5-payload-dev on Digiex: elfldr, websrv, ftpsrv, shsrv, klogsrv, SDK. Project page: github.com/ps5-payload-dev/gdbsrv (GPL).

- Make sure an ELF loader is running (ps5-payload-elfldr on the PS5).
- Send the build for your console to it, for example nc -q0 PS5_IP 9021 < gdbsrv-ps5.elf.
- In GDB, run target remote PS5_IP:2159.
