Help me sum1!!!

Hey guys, i really need somebody's help, i've been trying for the past couple of hours o connect to my laptop (dell d610) from xbox 360! Im not very familiar with networking, but i've connected before to my pc, but now that im trying to connect to my laptop, its just not working, i keep getting the error msg on the xbox saying that, 'could not obtain ip address', im running just the ethernet cable straight to my laptop, then im going to use my cellphone (via internet sharing), but so far, i just cant get my xbox to connect to my laptop. Im running windows xp balck edition.

Have you connected the 3g connection first then shared it?
You have to be sharing the connection for the 360 before it can obtain an IP address.

tried that hey, didnt work?? i know before, that was the solution, but i dont know why, but for some reason, it just does not want to connect??

Cardo I notice in a screenshot you posted your using the Nokia PC suit to connect to the net, try this new guide I’ve created here - https://digiex.net/guides-tutorials/2452-share-3g-dialup-connection-games-console-computer.html

I’ve tested it by connecting my 360 to Xbox Live with my mobile phone and it worked fine.
