is DLC on 360 region free?

I got max anarchy but the title screen says anarchy reigns. I found the bayonetta and gunfight DLC in my japanese 360 account on my US 360. I've made plans to buy japanese MS points from play asia so I can download them. If i do, will it work on my US account?

As far as I know, quite a bit of DLC is region free though not all of it is. It's honestly a gamble as to if it'll work or not.
