Looking for a couple good US based charities for donations

Hello All,

We updated our donation page today:

We're still looking for a few good Charities from the US to support as well on the page to go next to the two UK based ones we believe in.

Can any of our American members suggest any good ones? We're looking for health based ones (ie Cancer, Heart, etc etc). Ones that put the money to good use and don't just use it to pay their own salaries.

We're also happy to take recommendations of any Worldwide ones that allow donations from anyone worldwide which may be worth it.

[sarcasm]Yes, thank you for a long list of every charity in the US[/sarcasm]. It was obvious I was asking for an American to provide a list of the major ones that mean something to them so we could pick a couple of good ones.

I have recently donated here : Pregnancy, Baby, Prematurity, Birth Defects | March of Dimes Not too sure of any others at the moment.

A few big ones that I can think of are:

Make-A-Wish; fulfills the dying wishes of children with terminal illnesses.
American Heart Association; raises awareness of and researches heart disease.
American Red Cross; disaster relief, emergency assistance, and education.
St. Jude's; research centers and hospitals dedicated to curing children's cancer.

I'm not entirely sure how "trustworthy" they are, but considering they're major organizations, they must be doing something.
