Need Help with my Xbox 360

Hi, i'm pretty noob with Xbox360 mod scenes.

I'm using those older fat Xbox360 arcade which is modded. I have updated it's firmware once 1.5 years back then where wire to the dvd drive is the only option, so i'm guessing my firmware is pretty much outdated. My console is USB drive enabled.

I haven't don't much update other than those minor ones that came with the games but now i wanted to play modern warfare 3, battlefield 3 and all those recent games just to realise Xbox giving me update not found & asking me to get it. Frustrated i put in all the disc to try and installed fear 3 update & the update that messed my xbox360 up dead rising 2, it started the usual read then reboot screen and starts applying the update until half way it says could not read from disc and error code 3151-351f-b800-0f00-c000-0034. Even when i restart the console it will get stuck on that screen.

Now i have read few forumers having this problem but not sure if it's looped so i hope you guys here can help me out. I searched the same code and some nice fellow said he needed 2.0.13599.0, just wondering for my case is it the same, if yes what is next? Do i get the 14699 straight? Will it work via usb as i can't even boot up to the dashboard. Will i be able to play latest games with this update?

BTW I'm using Asian console are the update compatible?

you need to flash the console to stock pre 13599 then the update will continue,after you update to the desired dashboard, flash the dvd drive to lt 2.0 or wait for 3.0
depending on what drive you have you may need a probe? what dvd drive is in your console?

hi, just want to clarify when you reflash or update firmware, is it still like removing the dvd and hook up to pc or we can just insert a burned cd or usb drive to update as i read the instructions in the forum updates mostly involve burning cd or usb drive.

The installation just keeps retrying itself everytime i put in a disc or plug/remove my usb so any chance it will resume if i put the 13599 update in my usb? Also can i be sure that the installation error code was due to 13599?

So if i want to play latest games do i use the 14699?

I don't have a PC so if wired connection flash is the only way i have to send to shop.

the only way for that message to disappear is to do what i posted,you also need the drive key

I tried putting the 13599 into the usb it does install but i guess it also reflashed my dvd drive so i guess i still have to reflash the dvd rom as now most games read as dvd instead of game disc and new games show white xbox360 logo. Since mine is older fat xbox360, just wondering will normal reflash procedure work?

Also since i don't have a Sata port is there anyway to flash it via usb? Any of these cables sold on Playasia?

If not i'll have to bring it to the shop to reflash for $20...
