problem with my xbox360 update

Hi my dashboard version is 17489
and could not update it because the usb flash do not pop up also when insert a game on usb flash i can not read it from my xbox

Have you tried burning a CDR with the update image on it? I had to resort to that once, and it worked a treat. Here is the link to download 17511 - just scroll down to 'Burn to a CD or DVD':

It's impossible to play a game from a usb unless your xbox 360 is Jtagg or RGH I have no proper Jtagg or RGH expeirience so ask someone who has and try what @pawncrackers said that should work!
