I'm using IE6 and hope to use as long as possible. Microsoft will stilll support it until 2014. Why is it outdated if it still supported? Youtube has the same annoying notice. I do have FF and occasionally use it. I hate Safari and Google Chrome.

The reason it's outdated is because your using Internet Explorer 6. When the most newest is Internet Explorer 8. No matter what version Internet Explorer sucks and I'd recommonded switching to Google Chrome. If not you should at least update IE to version 8. Else your computer is at risk.

The problem is with standards, IE6 and its standards were created in 2001 (and it was poorly done back then). We are now in 2009, and the web standards have changed so much, that pretty much all web code has to made specially for IE6 as code which is designed using any modern HTML wont work in it. Digiex will function in IE6, at least in a reasonable manner, but the software which powers us as well as hundreds of other sites have joined the "Say No to IE6" campaign, which is about forcing the few people left on it to move over so the rest of us can enjoy the full benefits of HTML.
The logic behind it is simple, modern HTML works in IE8, Firefox, Safari, Chrome and tons of other browsers, its too much money and effort to maintain making two versions of everything, one for people who bother to update there systems and those who dont.
This isnt against IE or anything, IE8 works fine and Microsoft recommend everyone upgrade, so no one is forcing you to change browser, just update it to a reasonably modern version. Using something made in 2001 in 2009 is just asking for trouble.
It's like buying an anologue TV back then, and now demanding everyone else who wants digital cant have it, because you refuse when a replacement tv is free. IE6's market share is now less than 5% and Microsoft is pushing businesses to update now, as it offers the IE6/7 rendering engine in IE8 known as Compatability Mode, so business applications made for IE6 will work, and websites can use modern code. So head onto Windows Update and update your PC!
Your find Digg, Youtube and many other big name sites actually dropping IE6 support, and its about time! Even Google is going to start pushing update messages to people using it with IE6, the web is coming togeather to rid a 8 year old program and move forward.

Just wondering what you like about IE6 or don’t like about IE8 that’s making you not want to update?

I'm just comfortable with IE6, never had problems of any kind using it. I haven't tried IE8, but I did have IE7 and hated it. Yeah I know IE6 is old and when it's time to move on I'll do it. I really do like modern tech stuff, but I wouldn't trade my 1958 Strat for any of the "more" modern and advanced guitars of today, not everything old is bad.
As for security, like I said I never had any problems with IE6.

I understand where your coming from, If you like IE stick to it as long as you’re on the latest version.
Microsoft have got their act together with IE 8, it’s a lot more secure and supports standards a lot better. Microsoft is even contributing towards the creation of new web standards.

Don't get me wrong, I like IE and really like IE 8 but for some reason, Google Chrome seems faster and smoother than IE8.
Just use Run you don't need that install thing in your pc..or maybe you need.

I have IE8 but I not use it very much..I use it only for updates of windows because on other browsers don't work, so this is all I make with my IE8.
I prefer Firefox or Opera to use, also I want to try the Google Chrome to see how fast is it and if is better than Firefox.

If its already downloaded it shouldn't have a save option. Are you sure you have downloaded it? If you haven't downloaded it you need to save it and then install it.
