I wouldn't worry about it too much, I gift people Monday to Friday when I have access to Pokestops near work, however I don't really have any locally so can't on a weekend. I'm sure people understand its not always possible to gift every day.

Friendship level and such only really matters for people you know locally and play with, as your only ever likely to be able to trade with these people. Anything else is a bonus to get eggs from other regions to help with distance towards the pilot medal.

I do hope in the future we might have a chance of been able to hatch region exclusive Pokemon when hatching a 7k egg from other counties though, that would be cool as im getting fedup of hatching Alolan Pokemon now lol. However I do almost have the gold Pilot medal, so it's worth it!
