i want to upgrade my ps3
so i want to know can i just swap my ps3 hdd with a new hdd or new hdd needs some hack(as on xbox360)????

For using new hard drives in a ps3 it's as easy as plug n' play, so if you put a new drive in it should work just fine but I think taking an hard drive out and putting one in will do an instant format so be sure to copy your gamesaves to a flashdrive AND DON'T FORGET THE PROFILE! As PSN is down and will be for a week+ you won't be able to download your account from PSN if you accidently forget your profile.

Also remember the drives that are 12.5 mm in height will not fit in the PS3, only 9.5 mm drives will.

no need to flash hdd as there is a need of hdd flashing for xbox???

No you do not need to flash the hard drive for the PS3 it will just work.

I put a 1TB hard drive in my friends PS3 I like there setup just because you can use any SATA Laptop HDD
