This is Sony's official PS3 system software 4.90 (February 2023), as PS3UPDAT.PUP. It is the update you install from the console's Settings > System Update > Update via Storage Media, or from the recovery menu if the console will not boot.
Download:
Download PS3 System Software 4.90
This is the file from Sony's own update server, unchanged, laid out in the folder structure the console expects (PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP).
How to install / use:
Not included: Updating is one-way: a console cannot go back to an older version of the official software. If you use custom firmware or HEN, check before updating.
