RGH Takes Ages To Startup

I was under the impression that the boot up time should be really quick, yet most of the time I have to keep turning it on and off again just to get it to start. It makes a clinking sound when I turn it on like the hard drive is kicking in for some reason. I have a 2TB internal drive if that makes a difference.

It's more annoying than anything as once it's on its fine, but if I can make it boot up quicker that would be great.

It really depends what method has been used to RGH your console, the latest RGH 3.0 method should be pretty much instant on the consoles it supports.

Some of the older methods can be slower, especially RGH 2.0. This is just the nature of the hack, some of the later RGH chips might improve this a bit.

The RGH hack is essentially glitching the Xbox 360's CPU to boot unsigned code, the boot times essentially come down to how reliably you can slow the CPU down and glitch it to exploit the console when it boots.

How do I know what version I have? Somebody did my console for me.

Asking the person who hacked your console is probably the easiest way.

You can also dump your nand, then some of the tools to build a new nand such as XeBuild or Jrunner should be able to detect this if you open the nand in one of those apps.

I presume the console has always done that? if its takes a while to boot and show the Xbox boot animation then yes that's the nature of the RGH.

Yeah, as far as I remember it's always been that way. Not the end of the world, just annoying mostly.
