Looking for the way Sony meant a PSP or a Sony Ericsson phone to be filled with music? Media Go 1.8, the August 2011 release, is that program for Windows. It organises music, video and photos, rips and burns CDs, runs a UPnP media server and transfers content to the device over USB.

Sony's other companions have their own threads too: Zune Software 4.8 and Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1.
Update: 1.8 was the last of the 1.x releases. Sony has since discontinued Media Go and stopped supporting it, and the online services that were part of it no longer work; the local library, ripping, burning, conversion and device transfer are what's left.

- Run Media Go Setup (v1.8.0.121).exe, build 121, and follow the setup.
- Connect the PSP or phone by USB (on a PSP, choose USB Connection first). Media Go lists the device and what's on it.
