I must admit i'm interested, but then again we recently got a Wii that got used for about a month, now its sat there for the last 6 and not even been turned on...

That controller is going to be insanely expensive, although i'm guessing it will come with the console... its not going to be good if you need more than one.

nintendo said that the tech demo runs on 1080p with 60fps
on my knowlenge the ps3 and xbox 360 did not manage 1080p with 60 fps.
new xbox 360 and ps3 games runs below 720p on 30 fps.
xbox 360 and ps3 and only extrapolate 720p to 1080p

Its not its actually, it has modern hardware, yes the next Xbox and Playstation will likely look better, but then again they will be released a long while after the Wii-U, if the rumours are to be believed.

Games will likely look better than what the Xbox 360 and PS3 can do, however we will have to see once more than tech demos are revealed.

Nintendo need a new console, the Wii is about as powerful as an original Xbox which was released almost 10 years ago. I dont think Nintendo would get away with pushing the Wii until 2014 / 2015, which is when we are expecting the next consoles from Microsoft and Sony.
