Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) is Microsoft's software for connecting a Windows Mobile phone or PDA to a PC running Windows Vista or Windows 7. It replaced ActiveSync, which stopped at Windows XP, and lets the PC see the device, copy files to and from it, and sync contacts, calendar and mail with Outlook. Microsoft no longer lists the standalone installers on its site.
Download:
Download Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1
These are Microsoft's own drvupdate-x86.exe (32-bit Windows) and drvupdate-amd64.exe (64-bit Windows), unchanged and digitally signed by Microsoft Corporation.
How to install / use:
Not included: Windows Phone 7 and later phones do not use this: they connect through Zune, which is on Digiex as Zune Software 4.8.

How to install / use:
- Extract the zip and run the file that matches your Windows: drvupdate-x86.exe for 32-bit, drvupdate-amd64.exe for 64-bit.
- Accept the licence and let it install, then restart if asked.
- Plug the phone in by USB. Windows Mobile Device Center starts by itself; choose Connect without setting up your device to just browse and copy files.
