    Yes. Usually the 500gb by microsoft will cost around $110 while a wd 500gb will cost around $50. Maybe you're looking at a hacked wd drive for xbox 360 use. If it's by microsoft, im not sure if those cases for the slim will easily dissemble just incase you have to return it.

    Any options to change in the bios about the sata modes? Nope. The same sectors are written over each time hddhackr is ran on a drive.

    500gb will be usable if you use the 500gb bin file.

    You might have to run hddhackr again and use the create partitions option, it wont need to be reflashed. Only use xplorer 360 for partition 2 restoring.

    Format the drive with the console. You will need to enter the console serial number.

    The majority of wd drives will work, most problems come from the computer used and/or the wrong settings. AHCI should be disabled for this process.

    Possibly the content folder is being injected in the wrong folder. If you notice nothing appears but you have lost space, you can re-format the drive to clear that out. You can use this program linked below, it is newer and it will show the progress of copying over the files...

    You should be able to use hddhackr on the drive. I would suggest re-formatting the drive to a single ntfs partition first.
