If you've got a hacked 3DS or Switch, Checkpoint is the save manager to have. Back up a save before you try a mod or a risky update, put it back if something goes wrong, or carry it over to another console. On the 3DS it does extra data too. Bernardo Giordano has been looking after it for years, and it shows.
Download:
Download Checkpoint 5.2.0
One zip does both consoles.
3DS: install Checkpoint.cia with FBI and it appears on the HOME Menu. If you'd rather run it from the Homebrew Launcher, put Checkpoint.3dsx in the 3ds folder on your SD card instead.
Switch: copy Checkpoint.nro to the switch folder on your SD card and open it from the Homebrew Menu. You'll need custom firmware such as Atmosphère.
Pick a game, back it up, and the save goes into 3ds/Checkpoint/saves or switch/Checkpoint/saves on the SD card.
Tip: copy that Checkpoint folder to your PC every now and then. A backup that only lives on the same SD card is no help if the card dies!
