Copy and Extract content from an Xbox One USB Formatted Drive on a Windows PC

Nope, you can put video on a normal USB hard drive, connect that to the Xbox One and it will play them perfectly fine.

You can't do that with a drive that has been configured for Xbox One use.
 
Is there any place where I can download xbox One games and transfer it to external hard using this app?
My connection is too slow and I'm making my friend download it for me
 
Unfortunately not that I know of, if your friend has an Xbox One you can extract the games off his hard drive using this tool and copy them on to your own hard drive. You will obviously still need to have the disc in the console to play the game, or own it on your Xbox Live account.
 
Bricked my new Samsung SSD(3weeks:'(). Immediate BSOD when plugged in. Re-read the steps and I followed them correctly,I think.
Got to the point of reconnecting and 4 tries after which result in immediate BSOD. Looked like everything went well and showed PC Mode
What did I do wrong?
 
No it's not possible to edit Xbox One games, the Xbox One would need to be hacked to run unsigned code for that to happen.
 
Hi there. Thanks for the converter tool. I was able to use it to convert my flash drive and have the Xbox One see it. Can you offer some guidance on how I can copy contents that are on the Xbox One's internal hard drive to the flash drive? This was very easy to do on the Xbox 360 and I'm hoping to take a look at some game files and hopefully understand their structure. Need to get the files on my computer for that. I don't want to risk damaging the internal hard drive, so any way to do it without messing with the internal hard drive would be preferable.

You need to install / download the game to the external drive, I think if you press the select / menu button on a game you can move it to the external hard drive.
 
Help please
I am having a little trouble with this app, when trying to change my usb from XBOX to PC mode, the usb does not show up when scan after clicking PC mode

my step process:
i inserted my usb, which was not yet formatted for XBOX
i clicked create XBOX drive
chose my usb and waited for it to pop up under my cpu hard drive
right clicked my usb(which says is in XBOX mode now) and clicked enable PC mode
then file>scan and my usb that is now XBOX formatted disappears

Please anyone try to help me with this problem, i was thinking that formatting it for XBOX on my Xbox One instead of through the app might work .
 
Ok so I finally gave in and bought an Xbox One since they released the whole backwards compatibility thing with Xbox 360. The reason I did not want to give up my 360 is because I have a lot of Backed-up games (burned) but I figured that the Xbox One would play them since the dude working at the local Microsoft store said they would. Unfortunately, this is not the case, so once again I thought I would be SOL on playing my backed-up 360 games. However, after finding this thread it gave me hope. I wanted to try something, but I only have one external USB drive and nowhere else to store the contents on it, so unless I buy another one, I cannot try out what I think might work in theory.

Basically, what I want to do is: format a drive on the Xbox one, plug it in my computer, switch it to PC mode with your program, open the contents, copy the ISO files of my backwards compatible Xbox 360 games (from Xbox Backup Creator), like Borderlands, to the drive, then switch it back to Xbox mode and plug it back into my Xbox One.

So in closing my question is: Will the Xbox One read these files as games and automatically allow them to be playable?

If someone is willing to test this theory and help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
 
Unfortunately you wont get anywhere with that, the Xbox One simply used the disc to verify you have the game then it downloads the whole game from Xbox Live wrapped in a special emulator container configured to run that game. You could put what you want on the Xbox One hard drive, however the Xbox One will have no idea what to do with it.

Oh ok, so is it the same case with Xbox one games? Like ifyou copied downloaded games from someone else’s console you still couldn’t playthem unless your Xbox One is listed as their “home console,” correct? Also, let’ssay you do copy their games and then go out and rent a game to achieve therights, this still wouldn’t be possible because downloaded games have rightsattached to the console and disc games have the rights on the disc, right?
 
The Xbox One is not hacked in any way, so to you either need the disc in the console to authenticate that you own the game, the profile signed in that owns a digital copy of the game, or the console to be set as the "home console" on a profile that owns it.

So at best you can game share with a friend if you give them access to your profile, then they set their console to be your profiles home console. You can be signed in and play your games, your friend can play your games on his profile without you been signed in on his console then.
 
Hi. Thanks for this awesome app. One question though. When access the drive on the pc, how do I know which games are which because each file is just a long code?
 
Look at the size of the game when the hard drive is in your Xbox One, then on the PC with the hard drive connected and in PC mode, right click on a file that is roughly that size, go to properties and the file size should be exactly the same as the Xbox One dashboard displays.

That's the only way I currently know to identify content.

Also thought of that way. Hoped there is was some kind of database which had that info. But thanks, will do it your way

This is why I liked the xbox 360, I could rip and burn games all day long and it really only cost me about $2-5 a game depending on how long I rented it for. Looks like I am forced to spend money on games for now (not complaining). Other than that I am a huge fan of the Xbox One! Thanks for answering my questions InsaneNutter!

The size of games changes all the time as any patches are stored in the same container as the game on the Xbox One. I'm guessing the file names are unique to the game / regional variation of the game so doing a database based on that might be possible.
 
Is there a way to extract the game once I've accessed the drive? I could do this with 360 game copies and it would be great if I could with Xbox One copies too.
