Did the PS3 really need a Blu-ray drive?

    The PSP was amazing for a handheld device in 2004 / 2005 when it launched, a handheld with 3d graphics and with games looking pretty good when compared to PS2 games.

    Now we have mobile phones which have a lot more features than the PSP and even better graphics, I dont think that I will be getting a PSP2... I have hardly used my PSP in the last couple of years.

    of course a ps3 needs a blue ray player..for example: mass effect 2..the xbox version is burned on 2 discs,the ps3 version is burned on 1 disc... ;-)

    Yes but does that really matter? its not going to kill someone to change a disc ;)

    Blu-ray is slow and useless for a lot of people as they dont have a HDTV to watch Blu-ray movies.

    i would say its better if you got only 1 disc...it sucks to change the disc...sometimes..he he
    i think in the future all games will be burned on blue ray
