A few Digiex Staff Member's, myself included. Believe we should switch our Xbox 360 demo's format to .ISO.

As of now, we have one .ISO maybe more. Lot's of .RAR and .7z format files.

However, if we were to switch over and use .ISO from now, we want to know would you like that?

You see some of our users have troubles in the burning process, either by placing the .rar / .7z / .iso files on the root of the disc itself or by messing up the folder structure contained in all these file types.

.ISO is basicly a Image file of the disc, all you've got to do is select that file in Imgburn and hit go, its thats simple to burn it when it comes to .ISO, avoiding the whole extraction process.

This would also help us identify those users who would extract the content then RAR it back up and claim it as there own work. As clearly it will have SHA1 and it will have a text file within the .ISO file. Of course that wouldn't be visible on your 360 but would be on your PC.

That text file would contain the SHA1 and a link to where you should of gotten the download from. If it didn't contain that same SHA1, you didn't acquire it from there, or was missing the text file entirely. Then the user would know he/she had obtained that from another source and mostly likely a unsafe source which has stolen our work and putting your PC and Xbox 360 at risk.

Though, the big question is, What do you think we should do?

Go with rar or 7z, or ISO inside rar or 7z. You're changing for the sake of idiot-proofness, but a better idiot is just going to come along.

i don really think any1 minds but its up to you since your the main uplaoder! :) whaterver you decide im sure the rest of us will agree.

Keep it RAR so you can put on more demos on a disc, with ISO you can't! (Or maybe put sev demos into 1 ISO??)

I've decided to go with .ISO.

This will help some of our users who somethings messes things up after the extraction process.

Will provide better support for Mac users compared to what format I was using. (.7z)

Make the whole process of burning the demo much easier, Select the file and hit burn. (using Imgburn that is)

Increase security for those users who do upload to Digiex and doesn't want there work stolen. By using HashCalc we can generate a SHA1 per file and providing the text file within the .ISO file, which will link to its download thread and link to our guides.

Though, since theres not really a high demand for .ISO and most our users seem to know what there doing. We won't be changing any of the files already on the servers. .ISO will only be added to newly created files.

I've already updated a thread which will allow you to extract and build the correct folder structure. This will allow the burning of multiple demo's found here that is in .ISO format. Link

Here is the first .ISO Xbox 360 demo download. Try it out and see what you think of the new format. ;)

Anyone who doesn't agree? I'm still open to suggestions!

i think it'd be better off with isos i can't handle any of the others and i can handle iso easy and quick
