The more I hear about Windows 7 the more I wish I was using it as my primary os, I’ve got it installed and running perfectly on my old pc... although I never use it.

Has anyone just ditched XP/Vista for Windows 7? I’m tempted to format and install the latest leaked build however I don’t really have the time to be messing about with re installing windows at the moment.

I would love too. I'm also tempted. However I've got to many... important files :D to upgrade to a beta at the moment. I'm waiting for the final release version.

I am still not up to date with PC things seeing how I finally got a laptop a week ago. (its been forever since I had a PC before this one) So, I can only assume that it is different then Windows Vista. Mind giving me some details?

Thanks for the link! So you need to wipe the Hard drive in order to use Windows 7?

You don’t have to, you could create a new partition, install on a different hard drive or even upgrade Vista to Windows 7. If you’re going to upgrade I would wait until the final version of Windows 7 is out though.

I've thought about it, but like xzKinGzxBuRnzx it's too much of a risk. I used the "Official" beta on an old 5 y/o laptop with 768MB of RAM and it ran just as well as XP does on the same laptop. I've also been tempted to upgrade the kids PC with it, but again, I'm worried that it might break one of their games.

I think in the end I'm just going to wait until it is officially released, install it on the kids PC and see how it goes before I upgrade my PC which is also the home file server.

So is Windows 7 going to be free?

Iv got it downloaded now Im going to install it on my old pc in a bit.

Windows 7 Beta is free Safinn. As it's a beta it means it's still full of bugs, missing features etc etc. Microsoft would never give away a new OS for free.

is win 7 beta valid for life time or not............
when will win 7 release...........
