I've actually put off starting this game because I never finished Origins. But now I'm going to concede to not finish Origins; and I rather just start DA2. But now I don't know if I should wait for this new TU2 before I start playing at all now. What do you think? Have you played DA2 much yet? Should I start playing with TU1, or might I just get frustrated and wish I waited until this TU2 was available? (for insertion on a USB stick) Any opinion on that?
Well, without going too far off topic, I loved Origins, easily my favourite RPG, and epic in every sense of the word. If you can find the time (as it's totally worth the investment), I'd say finish it if you can, although you don't need to in order to necessarily enjoy DA2. As for DA2, I've just recently finished it off (couldn't hold out for the new patch on PC, as I was dying to play it before the first and second patches for PC came out lol), and it's a great game... it's no Origins, but definitely worth playing, and satisfying in terms of story and development of the overall DA plot.
My advice, since you haven't started playing yet, and considering the number of fixes included in this new TU, would be to wait... if you've held out this long, you owe it to yourself to play the most polished version of the game as you can. Personally, I'd do it simply for some of the quest glitches that you may encounter without the new TU. It's the same advice I gave my brother (who will be playing it on the 360, and hasn't started yet either), and I'm sure he'll be the happier for it.
Yeah, thanks for the advice. Maybe I'll just go back and complete Origins. (I know this is getting off topic a bit, but at least it might bring more attention to this TU request
The problem is I kept interrupting my play for long periods of time due to new releases of other games that caught my interest, and since Origins is a somewhat complicated game, I have to go through a relearning curve each time I revisit it. Not to mention I also have Awakenings, which I originally thought I would start and complete before DA2 as well, but so many new game releases keep sidetracking me along the way. With DA2 being reported as more simplified than Origins or Awakenings, that's why I thought I might jump straight to DA2. Origins is great if you stick to it and intuitively know and remember how everything works, what inventory you have, and have stored at the warden's keep, what skills you were working on, the skill strategy presets (forget what they are called), etc. But with long breaks in between it's hard to revisit easily. But maybe I will consider waiting for this new TU2 for DA2 now. It gives me an excuse to go back to Origins again anyway
