iTunes 8 causes Windows Vista problems

Yes it does cause problems. Even before when I had iTunes 7 installed it still gave me a BSOD when connecting my iPhone. I didn't really try to hard to find the problem. Though I did notice that if you've got your RAM overclocked to high and plug your iPhone in it would give you a BSOD. Once I reduced the RAM and tried again it didn't do it. I supect a RAM problem.

Users on an Apple forum reported seeing the so-called blue screen of death (BSOD) on their desktops running Windows Vista with iTunes 8 installed. The BSOD problem occurs shortly after connecting their iPods and iPhones. A second, more subtle effect is that their CD/DVD drives "disappear." Removing other USB devices, such as Webcams and printers, appears to resolve the problem, for the moment. Users on the forum speculate that there is an incompatibility between Apple and USB products from LogicTech and HP, as well as disc-burning software from Roxio.

I've only have a PC with Vista Home for about a week . . . I just installed iTunes the other day. I haven't synced my iPod yet, but I'll report back any issues I might have.

I've got a USB mouse, keyboard, USB HP printer, and a WD USB external HD connected.

I really hope it won't cause a problem.

Hope they have this sorted soon for people who are affected. I haven't updated my Itunes yet but I'm going to do so tonight so I hope there are no BSODs for me.

Well I experienced no problems with the install or usage of Itunes 8. Like the new album cover interface when looking through your library of music. Might get a new Ipod Nano 16GB when they go down in price.

i had problemswith Roxio after updating my iTunes, but my USB connectors (mouse, webcam, speakers) all work fine! Knock on wood. I never liked Roxio anyways. I prefer Nero.

I’ve not heard Roxio mentioned for years, I had no idea they were still making Easy CD Creator or Roxio Creator as it now looks to be called.
