MS explains Xbox 360 replacement procedure regarding XGD3

Will they replace 2nd hand models?
I haven't had any problems but I'm just interested.

I have had my xbox sent back two times, both times the drive was replaced but the problem carries on. Same games, every other game works.

I will log into Xbox live and hopefully I get the email...

Edit: Phoned up xbox live 3 times, apparently not entitled to this but my situation seems to fit the description. Cannot play ap2.5 games (Black ops, assassins creed). I think i have hitachi drive, plays every other game. black ops and assassins creed work perfectly on my other xbox.

That's pretty stupid honestly, my disc drive works like complete junk now. I have to try multiple time to get discs to pick up and my disc drive worked flawlessly before the preview update.

What DVD drive do you have?

I've read it's the Lite-On drives made around 2009 that are having the problem with disc read errors although I have a 2008 Xbox 60GB Lite-On model which works perfect so maybe it was a bad batch in 2009?

i was playing read dead redemption when i got an unreadable disc error on two separate occasions. i just thought it was weird because i had installed the game to my drive, so i just insulted my console and moved. since red dead is my most recent game should i get my friends black ops to test or should i just forget it.

mine is a 60 pro 2008( opened but not hacked or jtaged)
