i dont know, i dont think we will get banned, i ll try to update it after i come from school, if its doesnt work ill download it from xbox.com

also, i might get a new xbox tomorrow and if i download the real NXE on my old xbox the i put the hard drive on the new xbox will it update the new xbox too?

OK GOOD NEWS I asked the guy and told him exactly what i did and he said oh dont worry you'll still be able to connect on the 19th they made it so you could not go online.... as punishment we're in the green! YAY tons of weight of my chest

but wat about my problem, if i update my old console then i put that hard drive in my new console wat willl happen?

dont update your old console until wednesday... please, itl make it so much more easier, dont move the HD until wednesday, until BOTH are updated with the same firmwire to be safe.

For those worrying about Wednesday this should help:

A friend of mine who signed up for the original beta got in on the third and final wave and had already installed the NXE from here. As soon as his console ID was added to the allowed list he could sign into live and a download Window appeared and the avatar stuff downloaded and its all working fine for him. He even showed me over webcam so I can confirm this 100%.

So install this if you want, you won't be able to connect to Live till Wednesday, but come Wednesday when its released it will connect and download the avatar's and welcome video.

Good, cause I noted that It would not load Xbox LIVE pretty quickly, so when they restrict the list again, we'll be able to get right on.. good.

ok then ill update my old console with the full nxe (i already have the one that i got from here) on wednesday, then ill create a temporary account on my new xbox's memory card, update that then move my HDD

Well, I figured I would try to connect tonight, just for the hell of it. When I went to sign in to XBL, I got a "System Update is available" message. When I clicked yes, it told me there was an error connecting (obviously due to having the NXE early).

What I take this to mean, is they have already updated to the NXE to a new build, and on the 19th, when you try to log on, it will check your dashboard version number and allow you to install the new upgrade.
