PS3 USB Update Help

Canadian needs help! I bought a new hard drive for my PS3 and since the hard drive was brand new, it needs to get the PS OS installed. When I installed everything, it says to insert flashdrive and update from there, but whenever I do that, it says corrupted data. Every time I do this it says that and I am getting ANNOYED. Need help please

it should just allow you to install and format that's what ive done with all my Ps3's, but with the system powered off hold down the power button tell you hear 3 beep's (you will need to hook the controller to the system via the usb cable) Then go through the initial setup and then run a full Format via System > Format. (will take approx 3 1/1 hours). You may need to have our AV cables ready if your using HDMI (in case HDMI isn’t detected after initial reset) also from the menu you should be able to restore the Ps3 to factory default

This is an error on Sony's part. If you're updating to 3.56 make sure you're using the most up to date 3.56 as there was one with a bug fix released.

wait, but its a brand new HDD... the usb stick has 3.56 but when its checking, it says data corrupted.
