Firmware 5.00 runs on all three PSPs: the PSP-1000, the Slim and the new PSP-3000.
If you're after Dark_AleX's 5.00 M33, this is the file its installer is built from. Copy EBOOT.PBP to the root of the stick as 500.PBP and run the 5.00 M33 installer. No custom firmware yet? Then it's Pandora first, which needs one of the older boards, an original PSP-1000 or an early Slim. It never works on a 3000.
Download:
Download PSP Firmware 5.00
To update as normal, open the PSP folder in the zip and copy the PSP folder inside it to your memory stick, connect the charger and pick "PSP Update ver 5.00" from Game > Memory Stick.
Think before you put this on a PSP that can still run homebrew. Each new official firmware shuts the holes older homebrew used, and there's no going back down.
Newer version: PSP Official Firmware 5.50
