Two days after the PSP Go went on sale, here's 6.10, and this time there are two updates in the zip: one for the Go and one for every other PSP.
Open the PSP folder in the zip and copy the PSP folder inside it to your memory stick. On a Go, open the PSPgo folder in the zip and copy the PSP folder inside that instead. They're different files, so don't mix them up.
Download:
Download PSP Firmware 6.10
Then it's Game > Memory Stick and "PSP Update ver 6.10", with the charger connected.
Some of the latest games won't start below 6.10, which is the usual reason to take it. It swaps any custom firmware for Sony's own, and there's no way back down.
Newer version: PSP Official Firmware 6.20
