Question about softmodding an original xbox

So soon i am about to buy myself an original xbox and i really want the old DLC back. But see i really don't want to deal with or have the modded dashboard because i am lame and i'm nostalgic over the old xbox dashboard (and i like for it to feel official). So what i'm thinking, if i install a modded dashboard, backup the MS Dash and then when i'm done downloading and installing all of the DLC i want, can i then restore the old MS Dash and still have the DLC installed and working? Thanks for any help in advance.

There is a video here showing some one restoring the MS Dash but doesn't go into detail about what it effects and what not.

Yes you should be able to do that fine, the DLC should remain on the console and will still be signed to work. It would be like you had just downloaded the DLC from Xbox Live.

Note: i have never done that, however i dont see why it wouldn't work.
